About Original Sin
Has science made guilt obsolete?
Psychologist Kathryn Paige Harden talks to Adam Rutherford about the tensions between nature and nurture, freedom and constraint and punishment and forgiveness.
Exploring how DNA influences differences in temperament, temptation and behaviour, they weigh up how we might take responsibility for the people we become, knowing how we are shaped by both biology and experience. Navigating the line between inherited biology and human behaviour, they confront the unsettling ways that science challenges our ideas of choice and wrongdoing and how we should respond when people hurt each other - or themselves.
There will be a book signing after this event.
