Job Description

The Role:

To provide design support across Cheltenham Festivals:

  • To deliver engaging design collateral including (but not limited to) brochures, leaflets, Festival signage, point of sale materials, presentations, press and digital assets.
  • Work within brand guidelines, using existing templates and adhering to industry design and accessibility standards.
  • Act as a brand guardian, ensuring all design work aligns with guidelines
  • Be a strong team player, working closely with the Design Lead and Marketing & Design Executive to plan and collaborate on creative projects.
  • Manage multiple projects, keeping to tight deadlines while keeping the marketing team informed of progress.
  • To work closely with the Design Lead to ensure accurate executions of initial concepts
  • Actively engage with the charity’s mission and vision.

 

Essential Skills:

You will have: 

  • A portfolio demonstrating a strong range of creative abilities, including examples of print, digital and projects that showcase your effective application of brand guidelines (please include this with your application form).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Strong art-working skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and apply brand guidelines accurately
  • Experience working in an agency, in-house design team, or as a freelance designer
  • Competence in taking projects from brief to completion
  • Understanding of print production and knowledge of print processes
  • Experience creating digital designs
  • Ability to work efficiently to tight deadlines with accuracy and speed
  • Excellent typographic skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks
  • Minimum of Maths and English GCSE or equivalent experience in a design or motion graphics-related subject.

Desirable Skills:

You will have: 

  • A passion for design and innovation
  • Awareness of the latest design trends and technologies and their role in a commercial environment
  • Knowledge or experience in motion graphics and web design (e.g. After Effects, Adobe XD)
  • Experience using project management tools like Monday.com
  • Ability to adapt to feedback and refine designs based on stakeholder input
  • An interest in accessibility and user experience best practices
  • Proficiency in Canva.
