What is FameLab Academy UK?

FameLab Academy is the junior version of FameLab, the longest running and furthest reaching science communication competition and training programme in the world. This global project has been adapted to a secondary school aged cohort of year 9 students and seeks to revolutionise science communication in schools.

Equipped with training and resources, teachers and a STEM mentor support students to develop as science communicators. They learn to prepare and deliver a three-minute talk on a scientific topic of their choice that is entertaining and engaging. Students build confidence and skills that will help them beyond their FameLab Academy journey. They compete in front of an audience of their teachers, peers, family and a judging panel and are accesses by the 3 Cs of FameLab - Content, Clarity and Charisma.

Thanks to the continued support of EDF and The Jason Robson Trust, Cheltenham Festivals has reached over 35,000 pupils though FameLab Academy.

I have learned so much and taking part in this project has made me seriously consider a career in a STEM subject.
