Jazz It Up

This is a unique showcase opportunity for Gloucestershire secondary school jazz bands to perform at the heart of the Jazz Festival. Many cite it as the highlight performance of their school year.

This year more school bands than ever will take to the stage across the weekend mornings.

Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 May, 10am – 2pm

Yamaha Free Stage, Montpellier Gardens.

If your school has a jazz band, and they would like to perform on the Free Stage at Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2027, let us know and we will be in touch.

In the meantime, why don’t you come and see what it’s like? No ticket needed, just show up!

View the full schedule below.

The event further exposes them to jazz traditions, encourages creativity, and develops listening skills. Jazz’s improvisational nature inspires self-expression and collaboration which we encourage.

Teacher, Sheepscombe Primary

Performing in Jazz It Up is always so inspiring for our students. It promotes and celebrates inclusivity, and gives all students a platform to express themselves and showcase their musical talents, whatever their musical ability.
